college rites

college rites

yesterday was our college graduation. or so we thought. nobody told us that our college graduation was today and yesterday was just the practice. dammit, now i've nothing to wear and i decided to skip the college graduation ceremonies.

so instead of attending the baccalaureate mass, we went to providence for some vocal exercises. it was fun.

now pics.

the week

the week

ok. let me catch my breath.

so. i've been murdering myself with cleaning the apartment. i used to say that i should clean the apartment two weeks before mommy gets here. but due to the inconsistency of my mind in remembering dates, it was only last friday that i knew it's gonna be this week.

and my bad. it was only three days ago since i started cleaning. for some reason, i don't see anything else to clean besides the kitchen, which is hopeless - unless i can look for someone to fix broken doors and replace cupboards etc, etc, etc - the bathroom, the terrace, which are all done by the way, thank you very much.

ok, so there's the laundry. i really don't think i have to do that, do i? OMG. i just remembered now that i have to give my dog a bath. lol. so i would do that tomorrow. don't say anything yet, i'm going to buy something to wear tomorrow for college graduation bitches. ;)

so what is in store for me this week:

today: go to my aunt's office to get the money to pay for the ticket. buy something to wear tomorrow.
tomorrow: go to school at 8am (i know), get the academic attire aka toga, baccalaureate mass, college graduation, class picture taking, and university graduation practice, go out and party.
26: check in the hotel, meet tita dolly at the hotel, jen's despedida, buy something for someone, pick mommy at the airport at 12am.
27: probably still at the hotel, duh. maybe go with mommy to see the apartment, go out, eat out, buy a polo shirt i guess
28: graduation day. 9-2pm. 1000+ graduates. goodluck.
29: doing nothing. HINT HINT HINT!
30: dumaguete baby!

wake up call

wake up call

so today i was supposed to purchase the plane tickets before noon. i set my alarm to 9:30 so that i won't be late. but whuddyafuckinknow. i awoke with bands playing, drums bashing and people shouting outside my house. dammit. i barely had my forty winks and people are already in a very festive mood. today is supposed to be that start of the weekend fiesta. i tried hard to go back to sleep. and when the bands seems to finally be walking away in front of the house, MY ALARM WENT ON. so instead of trying hard again to go back to sleep, i decided to just jolt myself out of the bed with eyes burning like hell. you know that kind of thing, when you're so sleep deprived and your eyes would just burn when you try to close them again. that thing. anyway so i was up at 10.

i tagged yuri along with me to buy the tickets already. we got there 11:30. right in time.
well anyway, in the ticketing office, we were there for almost an hour and a half. to make the story short, our reservations was lost in the system. but they were able to retrieve it again and finally pay for the tickets.

jd, cheska and patty picked us up at greenbelt and headed home. ate, then slept until 8. woke up, ate again, took a bath and wrote this entry. that's it. i'm out.

jeepney chronicles

jeepney chronicles

i rode the jeepney to buy dog food. on my way home, i sat right across the two girls in uniform. i figured they were in highschool. i thought their conversation was blog worthy. their conversation went like this:

girl 1: "sino na?!"
girl 2: "basta nagsa-start sa letter B tapos matalino"
girl 1: "ha, eh sino yun... si brix?"
girl 2: "hindi"
girl 1: "sino na? si fajardo?"
girl 2: "letter B nga eh"
girl 1: "eh sino nga? si brix nga!"
girl 2: "hindi nga!! ang kulit mo!"
girl 1: "si fajardo?"
girl 2: "nope"
girl 1: "si brix?"
girl 2: "hindi"

the same debate went on from the time i got to the jeepney until 15 minutes away infront of the church.

girl 1: "sino na kasi, si brix nga?"
girl 2: "hindi nga"

at this point in time i just wanna bop girl number 1 on the head and just scream at her "HINDI NGA DIBA?! ANG KULIT MO! SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

her voice was this high school jologs one trying hard to be pasosyal. plus, her voice was too pitchy for me.

i swear i could have strangled her and backhanded her. i even looked at her in a way to tell her that she was getting on everyone's nerve on the jeepney. but i could only vouch for myself.

*sigh*

reality bite number something

reality bite number something

ok. so i guess i have to face reality that i'm never gonna get the camera i just posted yesterday. boohoo. mom called me early today (was it? i have no sense of time when i'm sleeping) and she was all panicky about the costs of being here in manila.

me: uhh helloh...
mom: (panicking) bryan! is the phone broken?
me: yeah, i told you that already.
mom: oh. DID YOU KNOW THAT I WILL BE SPENDING 20 GRAND IN PLANE FARE ALONE?
me: uhh no..
mom: WELL I AM. .......
(she continues to panic and somehow shouts in mid-sentences to punctuate her panic-ness/ment)

at this point, i was unintentionally slowly going back to sleep. at which she said:

mom: so about that hotel thing... i think jamie and i are gonna have to sleep there for a night.

PANIC!
ON MY PART.

i seriously got awoken by that statement.

me: here?! ..... WHY?!
mom: to cut costs. it's just a night. well, is the house clean?
me: uh-huh (LIE)... well, there's the kitchen...
mom: clean up then.
me: did you see my house in the pictures? it would be horrible for jamie to even step foot inside my house. he might get culture shocked. (well just MY culture)
mom: just clean the house... uhhh...

and then i don't remember what we talked about next but i'm sure that she said that the antipolo thing is not gonna happen anymore and that... what else.. that's all i remember.

dang. the camera. my dream. my career. my LIFE!
and i exaggerate only a bit.

today is wednesday

today is wednesday

wednesday. you know the routine. and what is it tonight? little manhattan. omg. it's screaming cuteness. (shet ang arte) but it really is. i've to say, one of the best experience i had inside a moviehouse. damn! although the girl kinda reminds me of the olsen slash yesterday slash i really hate them before because they looked like monkeys. the boy was great! haha! there was thing funny scene where he tells her that he hates her and then she tells him that she hates him back. and then phone slammed. then omg, the boy cries like hell. hahahahahahahaha! he was like all so hysteric like looking high up and crying and hand on the throat and the other hand crunched like some maniac and screams her name. LOL! L-O-L!i like the story, it's so refreshing. not those usual cliche type of movies that you see every so often. in two weeks, boy meets girl, boy liked girl, girl liked boy, boy love girl, boy kisses girl, girl breaks boy's heart, girl comes back, end. LOL. that's the whole storyline right there. sorry for the spoiler. haha.

and the other funny thing was, abner, was all "whoooo aaaahhhh" during the whole movie haha! my guess is that he was getting butterflies in his belly. haha. it's not funny now but it was funny then. i'll try to give you a visual with this.
this is abner.
now imagine him doing those things above. funny.

and just early tonight, i discovered joss stone. oh. my. god. she is sooooo good. i think i already have my favorite song of her. victim of a foolish heart. wow. excellent vocals, excellent soul, plus, she's really a good looker!

anyway, in any minute now, i'll be back to stalking somebody on livejournal. and it's because of this livejournaler that my love for photography has been rekindled. wooo! and it also prompted me to email everyone on my list to give me this:
canon powershot pro1

or this:
olympus sp500 uz

on graduation.

*sigh* i wish.

anyway bbye friends!

the lion the witch and the two jerks

the lion, the witch and the two jerks

i was all so lazy to post this but.

the wednesday group again watched narnia. hehe. i was all ready to rush to the moviehouse on the first screening date but alas, our hunger got hold of us first. we ate at teriyaki boy and the when we got to g4 people were already lined up from the entrance going roung starbuck then way back beside burger king.

so wednesday, as usual, jen, abner, krizka, yuri and i trekked to g4 to watch it. the ticket was kinda steep for our normal movie days but it was narnia and it was guaranteed seats so i won't complain. we were there around 5ish but the movie starts at 7. so that means, there's more timezone time for us kids. hehe. we played virtua tennis for the umpteenth time and the new addicting game of dream spotter. or whatever it's called - it's just a simple spot the difference. and for the first time also, after running out of credits and watching koreans and other asian foreigners bash their hands on this machine, we played bishibashi. again, i'm not sure if that's really that thing's name. hehe. AND after yuri found many free two games ticket that were scattered on the floor, i vented all my emotions on this bash-humpty-dumpty-with-a-ball. after it, my arms strained because of too much exertion. haha. now, that means i have to get my ass off of my daily routine to stretch some muscles now. so anyway, after timezone, we went down and ate again at our suki tender bob's. they knew us very well that they give us almost twice the normal servings. and would you believe i was still hungry after that meal. we smoked in starbucks and went straight inside the movie after. oh wait, i still bought frosty from wendy's before going in.

so we were inside the moviehouse and we were surprised to find someone sitting on our seats. we asked them if the seats were theirs. they said yes. and we asked for their ticket because we have L19-L23. those two jerks would not even show us their ticket and they wouldn't even nudge! i was so disgusted with the way they acted so i somewhat sarcastically politely asked them what their seat numbers were. one of them said "ah hinde sige pare kunin niyo na to, lilipat nalang kami" oh my gulay! the audacity of those jerks! and second of all, we are not getting those seats from you becase it was reserved to us in the first place! and as if they already knew what happened, they transferred behind us. good thing that the owners of the seats came and again the same story. oh those jerks.

well anyway, narnia. i have to say that i liked narnia better than harry potter 4. i don't know. maybe i'm just biased because i have read all of harry potter's and hp4 is my favorite and i found hp4 the movie too fast. and i haven't read narina yet. so anyway, it was great! i like the story very much. i just thought that they should have gone back when they're all dying so they could continue being kings and queens. haha. i like peter's and lucy's characters. peter is a struggling man trying to become a responsible and mature brother to his siblings. lucy, on the other hand, is so adorable and witty at the same time. the dagger thing was funny. susan and edmund are just the character you love to sorta hate. susan overanalyzes things and is always miss know-it-all. edmund is always defying his brother and tries to get things his way. that's irritating. if i was peter, i would have slapped him, punched him, pushed him and call him names after he got back from the witch. but then being peter would be no use at all if i did that, wouldn't it? hahaha.
aslan reminds me of simba, the witch of cate blanchet in LOTR (which by the way i watched again and fell in love again and wanna read the book again).

oh by the way, did i tell you that i'm typing this post at 7 in the morning because i can't sleep? so now i'm sleepy and i should hit the sack already.

ciao!

of seas, winds and pirates

of seas, winds and... o, pirates

after much planning, delaying and cancelling, we've finally found ourselves in the center of vast open spaces with a sea of people.
we've made it through quiapo and back, without lost items such as wallets, cellphones and other semi-important stuff like... our flip-flops.

we took a jeep going to the LRT and from the station, we got down Carriedo Station. it was the first time since a very, very, very long time since i found myself amidst all different kinds of people. some were smelly, some wore this really really foul perfumes, and some wore flip-flops, a ragged shirt and torn jeans. the latter description was us.

we had to wrestle about a thousand people along narrow, stinky and ukay-ukay infested alleys before we could even see the quiapo church. when we got there, we had to go down to the underpass which was relatively new (but was looking realy old, or really old but looking relatively new) and go up again at hidalgo street. from there we were greeted by porn videos on the sidewalks, hair straightening and curling irons, hair scrungies, hair lice removers, whitening creams and all those unrelated merchandise (well maybe you could watch porn while curling or straightening your hair and applying whitening creams all over your face. and don't forget that the dog could gnaw on the hair lice remover, which by now, grosses me out).

so we made it through the same looking streets and pass by same looking merchandise and found the mecca of piracy. well, sort of.
i went there to buy the lord of the rings trilogy and maybe harry potter. but insistent comments from yuri to wait for the whole installment to be released or at least wait until 5, made me really not to buy it then.

man: "boss, porn, xrated!"
me: "hinde hinde, salamat."
man: "ano bang hinahanap niyo?"
me: "meron kayong lord of the rings trilogy?"
man: "ay meron, sandali lang... eto sir"
me: "magkano po to?"
man: "500 lang boss... original po yan eh!"
me: ULUL! don't you have any idea where you're peddling your merchandise?"
well, i didn't say the last one. macky and i just looked at each other and tried to give the least possible hint of a super-mega-overly-sarcastic laughter.

we then turned to manang (same store)
macky: "ang mahal naman manang! 45 lang dapat per CD to eh."
manang: " o sige na nga, 45 nalang."
me: "magkano yun? dali dali math yan"
macky: " 270!"
manang: "o sige, 270 nalang."
me: "o sige manang, pabile!"

i was amused to see macky as if a child inside a candy store. he was all starry eyed. yeah macky you were. and he can't get over the boxes that contain the same thing! after i got my lotr trilogy, i said i was done. i just scanned the whole place to see if i can give something like a cartoon dvd collection to my cousin. i did, and i bought the 5-in-1 dvd of dreamworks. with antz, shrek, shrek2, a shark's tale, and madagascar. what's great is it's only 50 pesos.

we rummaged through other stalls and buildlings to see what's different. well, there's none. it's actually all the same - just different places. and before we knew it, we were back where we started. so we charted back again to our homebase, the LRT station. but wait. macky still had other plans. he went inside robinson's mall.

me: "robinson's ba talaga to o pirated din na robinson's?"
macky: "haha gago"

so we finished our little pirate adventure and headed home around 6 in the evening.

o, i haven't eaten during the whole adventure and right before going home, i tagged yuri with me to chowking. i ordered lots. ended up in the toilet.

so, until the next post then.

ciao!

first entry 2006

first entry this 2006

so what have i been doing lately aside from sleeping at 5 in the morning and waking up at 3 in the afternoon and watch tv and eat only once a day and once every now and then clean the house with clutter and dust? well, do my resume.

yeah. i've already applied to companies i like to work with online. i just hope they call after my graduation so i can still spend my long vacation. hehe.

in other news, i now have an active internet connection with special thanks to destiny cable internet! and for some weird reason, the connection right now is just like the time when i was paying my bills. haha.

now, let's go to our new segment, I'VE HEARD.

i've heard that daryll was sent to california. so what are you gonna do there daryll? behave yourself ok. and oh, you've gotta tell how to get limewire pro again. the limewire i'm using sucks.

i've heard that they are not talking anymore. i'm not falling for that anymore. i still hate her anymore. lol.

i've heard that mommy will arrive here on the 27th. but i've also heard that her passport is still expired and she's still waiting for it.

i've heard that im getting rich effective tomorrow. ok i just made that up.

i've heard myself tell myself i'm hearing nothing now so i have to say my last word now.

ciao!

oh, happy new year! i hate new year resolutions so i scrapped it out this year.

christmas update

christmas update(late)

oh my gulay, i have no internet! my computer decided to not open any programs so i had to re-install my windows. i still don't know when my internet's gonna be back so prepare yourself for a long post. i typed on notepad so that i won't miss anything for a blog.
moving on.

this is a funny thing i heard when i bought my cigarettes the other day.

lady: "miss, may gift wrapper po kayo?"
storekeeper: " meron... marami... para saan?"
lady: "pang regalo.."(DUH!)

i was there beside the lady and i couldn't keep myself from smiling and eventually laughing, so i just stood there and bit my lips.

23rd. so last friday, my barkada got together for a christmas party. everyone was there. including tracy's cousin...(i'm trying to supress a laugh now) jd was also there. and funny thing is, he spent more for food than all of us. haha. it was fun becuase nobody went home early! they all went home early. haha. jd was the first to go at around 2 in the morning. then peter and karen at 5. then elisa, grace and tracy at 5:30, then macky and nolan at 7. quite a night! i just hate the fact that i had to throw about 5 more servings of pancit malabon becuase it was already spoiled. and the pichi pichi too! darn. so anyway, like i said, everyone was there and we were happy.

24th. yuri and i got up almost 3pm because we only got to sleep when everyone else left already. well. yuri slept from 11pm-3am the other night i guess. anyway we went to market market to buy some gifts. oh, we're just the typical last minute shoppers. last year was the same story. and last last year was special because pres was here. and we spent the 23rd and the 24th together. that was my most special and memorable 23rd and 24th haha!

speaking of memorable, it is official. for the first time, i spent the christmas alone hehe. i am now the scrooge, a grinch. i dunno, christmas really doesn't make me excited anymore. bah humbug. i went home at around 9ish on the 24th and i was supposed to eat noche buena househopping through my relatives' houses. but i decided to just sleep for a while. the sleep that's supposed to take only a few minutes turned to be a long one. i woke up at 3 in the morning and celebrated christmas morning eating left overs from the barkada christmas party, drinking the wine that i bought together with the chocolate cake i bought and another chocolate cake that was given to us by jd. i thought: "so... this IS christmas..." i slept at 6ish.

woke up on the 25th 3pm.haha! talk about sleeping through the whole christmas. i wanted to go out but i'm so not in the mood. macky texted me if i wanted to go with him to makati, i politely declined. he called me scrooge again. haha.
this christmas thing is really funny!
and in a matter of 3 hours, christmas will be over. yes! i'm kinda looking forward to the new year. so. until next year i guess!

27th so yesterday we watched exodus. i now know why the title is such. people should go into an exodus... out of the theaters. the movie was such a bore. the story is taken out of the lord of the rings. imagine the fellowship of the rings battling witht the uruk-hai's with aragorn leading the pack. now, imagine bong revilla leading the men into the battle with i-don't-know-whats. think of the tower of mordor. and try to guess what the tower of jay-ar (who was funnily named bagulbol) looks like. imagine frodo trying to escape mordor as it collapses in the end. again, imagine bong revilla trying to escape the tower of jay-ar also. and this just gets better. remember the legions of dwarfs, hobbits, fairies, elves and wizards battling the dark forces of mordor? now think bong revilla, aubrey miles, iya, benjie paras and mura-look alike, tolits battling jay-ar's dark forces. oh my god. i should have just watched lord of the rings!even the cinematography is like lifted straight from the lord of the rings. while frodo is going into the tower of mordor to destroy the one ring, the fellowship also is waging war against the uruk-hais, and bong revilla is trying to fight off jay-ar, and the rest of the tao's are fighting their battles, too. wow.the story does not really explain each of the person's motives. there are times when you just go "huh?! why?!" i'll cite iya having to change wardrobe when tolits was bitten by a weird frog. why?
these being said, i have to give the production, visual effects and the costume designers two thumbs up. great job. if their creativity was put into a better and original story and better actors, i guess the movie will be something we, filipinos, can be very proud of. but that's not the case.
