wow puerto
i think this will be the only weekend that i can say WOW truly. this week, ive been in dusty and boring manila during the holy week and off into an island in mindoro, yep puerto galera, then back to manila to earn some money. more stories!

the puerto morning

early morning i got a call from yuri's mom. bangenge pa ko nun, so i gave the phone to yuri then slept. after quite a while, yuri told me that i should get my ass off the bed and pack my things coz were going to galera. i was half asleep and half awake when i heard him say that so i went back to sleep. got up at 12 already. and saw yuri going around the house to pack our things. so i did that too.

fastforward to the boat ride

we went to batangas port in tita patsy's car and went straight to the boat ride. it was kind of a deja vu thing for me, coz the last time i went there, it was with my mom and jamie and tita dolly and janna and daryll. anyway, it took us quite a long time to get to the island. it was almost 5 when we left the port and we got to the island at 6-ish. the boat ride was fun, spare the part when i got wet from the splashes of the sea. i was a little surprised so i immediately got up as soon as i saw water down my face and accidentally hit the nose of the person beside me. yuri. hehe sorry yuri!

galera airshot galera sunset
yeah i wish we stayed here but we didn't

galera and hotel-hunting

finally we got to galera. to say that the place was overflowing with people is an understatement. it was screaming with people young and old, men and women, lesbos and gays, tall and short, thin and fat - everyone was there. i almost wanna go back to manila when the boat hit the shore. but what would 50,000 people do to me? run me over in a great stampede? nah. so i went down to the beach. twas nice feeling the sand between my toes again. i felt like running (over some people) to the hotel. yes hotel. but the problem is, we dont have anywhere to go to. yuri's brother said he reserved a room for us. but when we got there, it was screaming scary. there was a huge mango tree beside it, a barbeque stand in front of it, a dog running and barking around it, an old woman sweeping the dirt and burning the leaves, not to mention it was way past dusk. creepy indeed. so begins the arduous task of searching. to the beach and back to the main road. i forgot to mention that the creepy house was like a 500 meters away from the beach front. the dogs were bitching us, yuri was bitching too. saying that he was tired of carrying the icebox to the moon and back. i feel like bitching but i was just a 5th wheel so i didnt have the right whatsoever. then, at around 9ish in the evening, we finally decided to call it a night - even if we dont have somewhere to spend the night in. we went to this semi-posh apartelle and decided to sit in the poolside. yuri's mom was in her ma-boca self again so she talked to the owner and manager of this apartelle. turns out, they knew the same people in their old quezon province and we were granted a free one night stay in their nipa office. hotel? check!

one hot summer night

after the long and tedious task of finding a place to sleep in, almost succumbing to the every muscle pain in your legs and buttocks, the throbbing pain in your head brought by the heat and the people buzzing around, I decided to have a beer or two. i immediately asked yuri and tom and tom's other friends to find a bar. after walking the whole stretch of the beach, we found this reggae place. only a few people were there and it wasnt too loud. it was the perfect spot. i had a coupla beers - red horse and san mig light - ahh perfect!

food trip

after quenching my thirst with beers, i was craving for food. galera is teeming with barbeque stands and eating stations, or carenderia. actually one long walk on the beach will leave you smelling like kebabs and fish. my mouth is watering right now. there were kebabs, barbeques, shakes, fruit, inihaw na bangus, pusit, tilapia - rrawrRR!!!!
then i ate. hehe..

sight seeing

and my gosh, the bars were jampacked with people. at the end of the beach were normal people's party, the middle part was the concert scene, and on the other end were the gay shindigs. in between those bars were food stalls, hotels, and henna tattoo stations. and oh, this was the first time i ever saw two men kissing very torridly. shocking.

fast forward again

oh, this is getting long. so the next day was spent looking around, eating around, shopping around and beach volleyball. it was very tiresome but the fun compensates everything. and since i was a jetsetter, having only a shirt and a couple of shirts with me, i was buying all the shirts and sando's that i need.

the next day

saturday was when we are supposed to go back to manila. but before we did, we were able to join and win for ourselves cash and gift packs from nivea. haha. it so hilarious. we were just supposed to play beach volley when the court was covered with sticks and ropes. they were having a game but they lack a team so they couldnt start. a beach volley addict that we were, we want the game to be over with so joined so we can start already. turns out, we came out as the winner. haha. AANNND we got to play volleyball too. nice.

the ride back home

the ride back home was scary. the sea was very wavy. i, again, so malas that i was, got wet again. but we reached batangas on time and we were all good.

ok ive reached my word limit na - joke. tomorrow im gonna tell you about my racket. haha!

ciao!
