dormant. bohol. and some random $#!+

i have been dormant, i know.

there's too many things that happened in the last two to three weeks and i won't even try to be specific about it. chief of which is our barkada's adventure to bohol! yay!! first time!

also, there have been a lot of blessings that came my way mid-march. thank you to all those who prayed for me. thanks anton! siya kasi ang isa sa lagi kong napagre-request-an na ipag-pray ako. and the only thing that i ask of him in his prayers is that He gives me whatever is best for me, that's all.

as much as the answered prayers inspire me, of course, there has also been a lot of emotional stress for me. BUT i won't write it down anymore. i feel it's best to leave it in the past. it's quite hard to relive those experiences and write about them. aside from the fact that once i write it all down here, it becomes more real =s

anyway... sorry for that downer. haha. if your my friend on facebook, i'm sure nasuya na kayo sa mga pictures and videos :) but for the sake of my blog, here they are :)

the things we did:
rio verde lunch, butterfly sanctuary, chocolate hills, baclayon church, balicasag island, dolphin watching, balicasag snorkeling and fish feeding, bohol beach club dinner, E.A.T. danao (suislide, plunge), beach volleyball, panglao beach swimming. (i think i missed some hehe)

panglao sunrise

panglao sunrise

panglao sunrise

virgin island

panglao beach

the plunge

suislide

the plunge

look who i found!
lol! look who i found in bohol!

hands

THIS IS SOOOOOOOOO COOOOL!!!
you gotta try this when you go there, i swear!

this is THE PLUNGE: a canyon swing adventure attraction mounted over a 200 meter high and 300 meter wide gorge. A person would have to do a 45 meters free fall before being launched on a pendulum swing measuring to a hundred meter diameter. Cable has a maximum working load of 5 tons.

“The Plunge” is the best “fear factor” experience among other adventure activities on offer. One has to literally plunge to an open air where about two seconds, the plunger will all be defenseless, feel nothing and left all alone.

This experience is one great way to de-stress and even make one appreciate life the more.

It can accommodate 50 pax in a day. Total experience will just take around 10min.

For P700, it is sure worth the experience!

of britney and the self

the onslaught of mental/emotional stress that manifested physically lately aroused my interest in reading things about it. i think i have it.

or maybe i'm just being a hypochondriac

in other news, i found these.

this is the original just in case.

this was the first cover i came across.

i think this is old already. but i find the mood so enchanting and amusing. galeng galeng!

and this one's the second.

eto naman, define kulot talaga! haha. it was okay na sana kaso ang dami lang naging acrobatics na parang OA na ang dating. gusto ko yung tunog niya though, may pagka amy winehouse.

that's all.

ondoy

first off, i want to thank the lord for keeping me safe. thank you, thank you, thank you lord.

yesterday, i woke up to the sound of rains outside my window and i thought it's gonna be another long cool day. but i was not prepared to see the flooded street in front of our house. our street virtually never flooded before except for those super strong typhoons. still after a few minutes, it will be gone.

but the water kept rising. tita madette, JR, and tito jojie started moving their cars to the garage. lolo was already shouting to everyone at the house because the antiques in the shop are being flooded.

less than 30 minutes later, the water rose to waist-deep. a friend who's stuck in edsa called and i needed to bring food already. i packed my things and waited a little to see if the flood would go down a little. it's still going up and i had to leave already because i might not be able to make it if i waited a little longer.

what normally takes less than 5 minutes to jollibee edsa took me over 15 minutes to reach. i can't begin to imagine how much courage it took me to tread the waters with cockroaches, rats, garbage, animal feces, and engine oil floating and swimming around me. at one point i had to stop to look for my slippers because the current swept it off. i knew then, the weather was turning for the worse.

i eventually made it to the car, kawawa naman in the middle of edsa with hazzards on. we ate and drove a while -- looking for places where we can park. we found ourselves on edsa-magallanes flyover and stayed there until 6 or 7 pm. edsa soutbound was not moving but the north bound lane was light. we headed to the gas station along edsa-dasmariƱas village and we had dinner there.

we were just waiting for the flood to subside in our house so we can go home. after much waiting and texting to my cousin for flood news, we headed home. i got home at a little earlier than 1am. though the streets were still flooded, it was just ankle-deep that time.

i thought it was bad. and it was bad. but i never thought it was THIS bad.

*found this on youtube, this is a few meters away from our house.

thank you lord for keeping me and my family safe. i heard my relatives in antipolo are not doing well and i'm praying for them. keep them safe. keep all of us safe.

can i have this dance

i can't decide which version is better. i have not heard the original version (thank god... and partly because i want to have their version as my lss haha) and i have not seen the movie. but the song i think is nice.

this is singingdork and esnathesinger's version

i like the girl's voice here - full and powerful but with just the right amount of softness and fragility. parang sarah bareilles meets demi lovato ang dating.
yung sa guy naman, buong buo yung tunog. his voice is like michael buble singing the blues. ewan ko lang.
solid din yung harmony nila, mejo malakas lang yung sa girl pero maganda pa rin ang labas.

this is jenniferjchung and gabebondoc's version

ganda ng harmony nila dito - parehong napaka-delicate ng atake. it's as if they're just talking here na may harmony.
both their voices are pang acoustic talaga. their voices are the type that you'd just want to hear on a long drive home on a lazy sunday afternoon. define mushy and light-hearted haha.

o well, yun lang. na inspire lang ulit nanaman ako. bow. don't worry, i won't be posting any singing videos of myself here (though really tempted to do so haha).
pero come to think of it, wala namang nagbabasa nito (i know :) ) so i just might hahahaha.

"for you, a thousand times over!"

hassan: "have i ever lied to you?"

amir: "how should i know?"

hassan: "i'd rather eat dirt."

amir: "would you really do that?"

hassan: "do what?"

amir: "eat dirt if i told you to."

hassan: "if you asked, i would."
"but would you really ask me to do such a thing?"

amir: "are you crazy?"

"you know i wouldn't."

hassan: "i know."

this is a story of two young friends who got lost and eventually found their way back to each other despite being worlds away. this is such a moving story and you should watch it.

i miss my friends

i don't wanna get married yet. i just want their exuberance and lightheartedness. for an occasion that many people take too seriously and with much fanfare, they chose to be themselves and be the best of friends as they are. it shows.

nakakainggit, pag pinapanood mo, alam mong bukod sa mahal nila ang isa't isa, magkakaibigan silang tunay. at ang song na napili --- naman! hahaha.

i just can't stop smiling the whole time. btw, this is not an original upload by the couple, they disabled embedding so i'm left with this link. it's the same video though.

enjoy!

"it's like i waited my whole life, for this one night..."

i miss my friends!

rediscovery

If tomorrow is judgment day
And I'm standing on the front line
And the Lord asks me what I did with my life
I will say I spent it with you...
Your love is my love and my love is your love
it would take an eternity to break us up
And no matter what the people say
I'll be waiting for you after the judgment day...

i remember i loved everything about this song -- lyrics, tempo, melody, and oh THE singerdiva.

next one, another rediscovery of an old 80's song. this one is just hilarious. made me laugh until i cried. i admire the person who did this, he must've been really bored and decided to do this. hope you enjoyed it as much as i did. =D

smoke

Leaf by Leaf page by page
Throw this book away
All the sadness all the rage
Throw this book away
Rip out the binding, tear the glue
All of the grief we never ever knew
We had it all along
Now its smoke
The things we've written in it
Never really happened
All of the people come and gone
Never really lived
All of the people have come have gone
No one to forgive smoke
We will never write a new one
There will not be a new one
Another one, another one
Here's an evening dark with shame
Throw it on the fire
here's the time I took the blame
Throw it on the fire
Here's the time we didn't speak
it seemed for years and years
Here's a secret
No one will ever know
the reasons for the tears

They are smoke
Where do all the secrets live
They travel in the air
You can smell them when they burn
They travel
Those who say the past is not dead
Stop and smell the smoke
You keep on saying the past is not dead
Come on and smell the smoke
You keep saying the past is not even past
You keep saying
We are, smoke

flavors of entanglement

because music is my saviour and alanis is a demi-god with india arie as her headpiece and mika, her jester, i give you life in cartoon motion with flavors of entanglement, and you know that's the heart of the matter.
(turn off my site's sound on the right panel)

I've been learning to live without you now
But I miss you sometimes
The more I know, the less I understand
All the things I thought I knew, I'm learning them again
I've been tryin' to get down to the Heart of the Matter
But my will gets weak
And my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness
Forgiveness
-- the heart of the matter

Moratorium - Alanis Morissette

I've never let my grasp soften fingers like this...
I declare a moratorium on things relationship
I declare a respite from the toils of liaison
I do need a breather from the flavors of entanglement
I declare a full time out from all things commitment
-- moratorium

These versions of violence
Sometimes subtle sometimes clear
And the ones that go unnoticed
Still leave their mark once disappeared
-- versions of violence

Day one, day one
Start over again
Step one, step one
I'm barely making sense
For now I'm faking it
'Til I'm pseudo-making it
From scratch, begin again
But this time I as "I"
And not as "we"
-- not as we

am dancing with my friends in elation
We’ve taken adventures to new levels of fun
I can feel the bones are smiling in my body
I can see the meltings of inhibition
Oh this state of ecstasy
Nothing but road could ever give to me
This liberty wind in my face
And I’m giggling again for no reason
-- giggling for no reason

I am someone easy to leave
Even easier to forget
A voice, If inaccurate
Again, I’m the one they all run from
Diatribes of clouded Sun
Someone help me find the pause Button
-- tapes

One day I'll find relief
I'll be arrived
And I'll be friend to my friends who know how to be friends
One day I'll be at peace
I'll be enlightened and I'll be married with children and maybe adopt
One day I will be healed
I will gather my wounds forge the end of tragic comedy
-- incomplete

These are things that I miss
These are not times for the weak of heart
These are the days of raw despondence
I never dreamed I would have to lay down my torch for you like this
-- torch

Cos it's all in the hands of a bitter, bitter man
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
Take a bow, play the part of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in
-- any other world

Don't let the stars get you down.
Don't let the waves let you drown.
Brown...Oh Billy Brown.
Gonna pick you up like a paper cup.
Gonna shake the water out of every nook.
Oh Billy Brown.
-- billy brown

This is the way you left me,
I'm not pretending.
No hope, no love, no glory,
No Happy Ending.
This is the way that we love,
Like it's forever.
Then live the rest of our life,
But not together...
This is the hardest story that I've ever told
No hope, or love, or glory
Happy endings gone forever more
I feel as if I'm wasted
And I'm wastin' every day

-- happy endings

'Cause I don't care if I ever talk to you again.
This is not about emotion,
I don't need a reason not to care what you say,
Or what happened in the end.
This is my interpretation,
And it don't, don't make sense.
-- my interpretation

flavors of entanglement is alanis' newest album after her breakup from ryan reynolds. it's not the alanis i'm used to - with some electric and synth tracks (moratorium). rather, this album speaks more of (her) grief than angst.
life in cartoon motion left me speechless because it was one of the most played albums in my ipod. but it is just this week that i actually "heard" the songs' lyrics. it baffled me, but after a few seconds of disbelief, i loved it even more.
india arie is india arie. this is a cover, though, of don henley's (eagles) song. but i like her version better.

ciao!

battle of who could care less

i know i posted ben folds five before. but for reasons unknown to me, it's just today that downloaded ALL their songs. at wala na yatang tatalo pa sa pagka-emo ng mga kanta nila. kahit upbeat, umi-emo ang level ng lyrics nila. heniway, aside from my favorite evaporated, listen to this! astig lang!

Do you not hear me anymore
I know its not your thing
-- To care
I know its cool to be so bored
But it sucks me in when you're aloof
It sucks me in, it sucks it works
I guess its cool to be alone

Will you never rest
Fighting the battle of who
Could care less
Every day you wake up late
Sometimes I wish I was
That way

see, i told you they're great!

in other news, since today is a monday, i once again appointed myself as the aliping namamahay for the whole day. my lower back and my legs are killing me right now. i was on an ironing-happy self again and i ironed out all the clothes i can lay my hands on. ayan, ang sakit tuloy. plus, hinabol ko pa yung laba ko na naiwan last week because of the weather. if there's one thing i don't like about rainy days ('coz i LURV rainy days), it's the fact that i can't hang my clothes out in the sun to dry. boooh.

'yun lang poH. hanggang d2 nlng poH ang ME. sana POH nagenjoy ang U para MXEA.
tahngenahngshiyeht. (bigkasin ng parang am-boy)

can

it's rare that i thank my friends on here. so let me just do a quick shout out to a few of my friends.
thanks tin for being the sounding board, chopping board, diving board, ironing board. thanks macky for being there for everything -- including baguio haha. thanks rr for trusting me with everything and for the company lagi sa bahay. thanks officemates for keeping me busy and insanely grounded for a very long time.

in other news, allow me to share you this. a complete tearjerker -- and one of the greatest love stories ever.

kleenex alert!

When Rick Hoyt was 15, he communicated something to his father that changed both their lives. "Dad," the mute quadriplegic wrote in his computer after his father pushed him in a wheelchair in a five-kilometer race, "I felt like I wasn't handicapped."

Rick, now 37, has had cerebral palsy since birth. But he has always been treated simply as one of the family, included by his now-divorced parents in almost everything brothers Rob and Russell did.

"They told us to put Rick away, in an institution, (because) he's going to be nothing but a vegetable for the rest of his life," his father remembers.

"We said, 'No, we're not going to do that. We're going to bring Rick home and bring him up like any other child,'" says Dick Hoyt, 59, a retired lieutenant colonel with the Air National Guard. "And this is what we have done."

mad world - gary jules

this is a great song. period.

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world mad world
